I also want to put as a disclaimer that I have not read every single book on this list, although I have read many of them! So please, if you have any additions, suggestions, or comments, feel free to reach out! Most of these books have been published by mainstream publishers, so if you have recommendations for self-published or small press books, please let me know! I have bolded my favorite books from each section as well. (There are some older books that have some sketchy morals.) I’ve only included ones here you would actually want to read to children. Who knows! I have only included books on this list that aren’t problematic. This list only includes children’s lit because that’s my specially, but I can provide some limited recommendations for middle grade books if anyone is interested. 
I’ve broken the books down into categories, so you’ll notice books may be listed more than once if they fall into more than one category.
I tried my best to make the most exhaustive list I could of all LGBTQ+ Picture books. Educating children and normalizing LGBTQ+ experiences from a young age is so crucial and a passion of mine as someone who works with Queer families. It is so important for children to see themselves and their families represented in books (and otherwise). This resource list has been a pet project of mine for about a year.
